Joseph J. Merendina

Joseph J. Merendina, 78, of Hampton, formerly of Scotland, husband of the late Anna (Koder) Merendina, died Thursday morning Dec. 9, 2004 at Douglas Manor. He was born Oct. 28, 1926 in Queens, N.Y. and was a New York resident for most of his life until moving to Scotland. Mr. Merendina was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during the Korean War. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Robert and Tena Merendina of Hampton, 4 grandchildren, Christine Halfpenny and Patrice, Alane and Nicholas Merendina; and 2 great grandchildren, Giovanni Gonzalez and Sienna Ortiz. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00am at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic with the Rev. Alice O'Donovan officiating.
