Joseph Clifford Gagnon

July 10, 1942 — April 19, 2016

Dear Friends & Family, My darling husband of 53 beautiful years, Joseph Clifford Gagnon, died from a heart attack Tuesday (4/19) around 9:30 p.m. in his sleep. He was pronounced dead at Windham Hospital. I and all our beloved children and grand children were present. He also leaves a sister Geraldine Shevalier who lives in Florida, along with many nieces and nephews. He also leaves cousins, nephews, and nieces living in?Connecticut.?This man loved life and, most of all, his family, but he was a man of good will and always wanted to brighten someone's day - whether it was someone he knew or not, he'd come up with one of his corny jokes. Most... people laughed, but I always thought they were just humoring him. There was not one mean bone in this man's body; he would always try to help anyone in need. We met at Hartford High School in 1960 - I was 15 and he was 17. We married when I was 17 and he was nearly 20. We had three beautiful children - Tracey, Suzanne, and David. Today they each?have two children, so we were blessed with 6 beautiful grandchildren, they brought so much joy to this man's life. In short, Joe was a good man, no I mean the best any woman could have, the best father, grandfather; and, if you were lucky enough to know Joe you were blessed. Joe worked for the United Food & Commercial Union, Local 919 in Farmington, Connecticut, for 30 years, and leaves many friends there. We are having services at?Potter?Funeral Home in Willimantic, CT on Monday, April 25, 2016. The doors will be opened at 1:00 p.m. to receive guests, relatives and friends. A short service will follow at 2:00 p.m, and then there will?be a gathering at the Gagnon's residence.
