Joseph John Cushman

Joseph John Cushman, 53, of Ashford, passed away suddenly on December 14, 2018 at his home. He was born in Putnam, CT on October 14, 1965, to the late Rose Anneta Busse and Louis R. Cushman, Sr and was the youngest of six children. Joe graduated from Windham Tech in 1983, where he starred?in basketball and baseball. He had a great love of sports, particularly UCONN basketball, New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He had a great love of animals which included his two dogs, Peanut and Cookie, and his four cats. Joe was known for having a very kind heart, loved to laugh and make people laugh. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Joe is survived by his two children, Christopher and Brittany, both of Ashford; their mothers, Laurie Wiseman and Bonnie Trimble Cushman; grandson Damien Cushman; brother, Michael Cushman; sisters, Debbie Gobin and Donna Bragg and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his siblings, Janice Weeks and Louis R. Cushman, Jr. There will be no calling hours, and a celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
