Joseph Boucher Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph L. G. Boucher, affectionately known as Jerry, who departed this life on the early morning of November 21, 2024, at Windham Hospital. Jerry was surrounded by his loving family just hours before his peaceful transition.

Born on September 7, 1937, and raised in Brunswick, Maine, Jerry was the eldest of three siblings in a close-knit family, the son of Eva and Gerard Boucher, proud descendants of American French Canadians. He graduated from Brunswick High School, where he excelled in sports, particularly football and track, and was a member of the National Guard, experiences that shaped his character and love for teamwork.

In pursuit of better opportunities, Jerry moved to Connecticut where he found employment at Pratt & Whitney as an engineer. During this time, he found romance with Diane Osgood, whom he married, beginning a beautiful journey together. Jerry worked at Pratt & Whitney for over 30 years and retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and professionalism.

As a devoted father, he raised three beloved children: Dominick (Eva), Kenneth (Keri), and Catherine (Erik). The family moved from East Hartford to Hebron, where they ultimately found their dream home. Raised primarily as a French Canadian, Jerry fully embraced the Italian culture of Diane's family, enriching his life and that of his family.

A lover of cars, Jerry had a special fondness for his first Pontiac, which sparked a lifelong passion for automobiles. Known for his kind-hearted nature and infectious sense of humor, he cherished children and took great joy in coaching and watching sports. He was a devoted member of his church and the Knights of Columbus. Jerry found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—sunny days, devouring lobsters in their entirety, savoring sushi and shrimp, and indulging in sweet treats. He capped off his evenings with a nightcap of Kahlua and vodka.

As a proud grandfather, Jerry took immense joy in watching his grandsons, Ben and Jack, grow into young adulthood. He spent every chance he had to help and encourage them, supporting their pursuits and fostering their individual interests.

Jerry and Diane shared a love for travel, exploring beautiful destinations like Italy and Hawaii, and enjoyed countless getaways with close friends. A man of order and discipline, he had a knack for making everything just so.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Diane, his sister Louise (Fred), brother Paul (Marie), brother-in-law Leo (Lisa), and his cherished children and their spouses: Dominick (Eva), Kenneth (Keri), and Catherine (Erik), and his grandchildren Ben & Jack, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In his later years, Jerry delighted in summer days spent at their cottage in Pleasure Beach, Waterford, and from his home in Scotland, he enjoyed watching the farm animals across from Kenneth and Keri’s Iris Creek Farm.

His Funeral Mass will be held in Jerry's honor on December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church, 70 West Main St., Baltic, CT, 06330, with burial to follow at New Hebron Cemetery, Wall St. Hebron.

Jerry will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
