Jose Cuevas-Mendez

Jose Cuevas-Mendez, 93, of Willimantic, husband of the late Gloria Tirado, died Friday January 3, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. He was born February 25, 1909 in Puerto Rico and was employed as a mail carrier for the Puerto Rican Postal Service before moving to Willimantic six years ago. He is survived by 3 nephews, Roque Rois of Willimantic, Victor Rois of Willimantic and Thamas Rois of Puerto Rico, 3 nieces, Felisita Rois of Hartford, Luz Maria Rodriguez of Willimantic, Ada Maria Rois of Hartford , 27 great nephews and 21 great nieces. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the new Willimantic Cemetery.
