Jon B. Swanson

Jon B. Swanson, 56, of Chaplin, CT, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, April 17, 2016. He was born May 27, 1959 in Manchester, CT, to parents Folke V. Swanson and Frances P. Swanson, of Chaplin, CT. Jon graduated from Windham Technical High School in 1977, and worked as a journeyman lineman at International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 42, and as a crew chief at IBEW Local 457, for Eversource. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, vacationing with his wife and friends, as well as family gatherings and cookouts. Along with his parents, Jon is predeceased by his brother, James Folke Swanson, of Chaplin, CT. Jon is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Lynne. They were married in St. Philip the Apostle Church in Ashford, CT on June 18, 1982. He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Jay and wife Michelle Swanson, his sister, Joann Swanson-Robichaux and husband Lloyd, brother-in-law- Michael Garneau, sister-in-law Lisa Garneau, nieces Melissa and Jessica Robichaux, Laura Garneau Wertenberger, Chelsea Rosner, and Heather Hazelwood, nephews, Jason McKay and Mark Garneau Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund: In Memory of Jon B. A Visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 from 1:00-3:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT 06226.
