John Alden Spellacy

John A. Spellacy, 77, of Lebanon, husband of Shirley (Hinckley) Spellacy, died Tuesday September 13, 2005 at their home. He was born February 13, 1928 in South Coventry, the son of the late Daniel and Ruby (Watrous) Spellacy and had lived in Lebanon most of his life. Prior to his retirement he was employed for 39 years by the State of Connecticut, first in the Parks and Forest Department and later the Department of Environmental Protection. In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Karen Spellacy of Canton, NY, Shawn Spellacy and his wife, Mercy also of Canton, NY and Kathy Spellacy of Lebanon, a sister, Janice Bartizek of Lebanon, two grandsons, Christopher Krapf and J.R. Colville, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Paul, Vernon and Francis Spellacy and by two sisters, Hazel Spellacy and Mary Molly Lamond. Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:00pm in the New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Rd. Lebanon. There are no calling hours.
