John S. Pivarnik

John S. Pivarnik, 86, of Storrs, husband of the late Helen (Bednarchak) Pivarnik, died Sunday May 12, 2002 at home. He was born October 27, 1915 in Yonkers, NY, the son of John and Anna (Ondrey Pivarnik. Mr. Pivarnik lived in Yonkers most of his life, then in Palm Springs, California before moving to Storrs 4 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, employed at the Otis Elevator Co. in Yonkers and then for many years by the Yonkers Board of Education. He is survived by 5 children; Barbara Pivarnik and her husband Francis X. Archambault of Storrs, Annie Pivarnik and her husband Joseph Walczak of Williston, ND, Elena Pivarnik of Key Biscayne, FL, Mary Pivarnik of Willimantic, Stephen Pivarnik and his wife Stephanie of Ossining, NY, a daughter-in-law, Kathi Auerbach of Erwinna, PA, a sister, Agnes Wehmeyer of NJ, 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, North Eagleville Rd. Storrs. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
