John D. Nevers

John David Nevers, 42, of Beech Mountain Rd., Mansfield Center, died Wednesday Oct. 24, 2001 at home. He was born Feb. 11, 1959 in Middletown the son of Thomas and Nancy (Champagne) Nevers. John was a graduate of E.O. Smith High School and had attended U.R.I. During his high school years he was active on the soccer and track teams. John enjoyed scuba diving and his time as a lifeguard on Cape Cod. John s family would like to thank the many friends, caregivers and volunteers who have shown their love and support through the last 20 years. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister and brother in law Rebecca and Douglas Fellows of West Point, N.Y., 2 brothers; Thomas of Storrs and David of Brewster, MA., 2 nieces, 4 nephews, an uncle Francis J. Nevers of Harwich, MA. and 2 aunts Mary George of Charlestown, R.I. and Susan Blais of Watertown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, John s family suggests memorial donations to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 595, Willimantic,Ct. 06226.
