John B. Mccarrick

John Boyd McCarrick, 57, of Andover, CT, died of cancer on Thursday, January 29, 2015. He was born October 3, 1956 in Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic to parents John J. and Margaret McCarrick. He leaves behind his loving mother Margaret McCarrick. He was predeceased by his father John McCarrick, and his brother, Peter Howard McCarrick. John lived briefly in Ohio until moving with his parents to Bolton, CT where he spent his boyhood. He attended Bolton Elementary School and graduated from Bolton High School in 1974. John worked at The Car Corner in Manchester for many years as a mechanic where he could put his love of cars to work. From the time he was a young boy he repaired the engines of his friends' go-carts, went off road racing, drag racing, and hill climbing; many of the vehicles he drove were made by him from the "ground up". John's many racing friends have been very kind to him since the diagnosis of cancer last year and his mother wishes to thank Bill, Jessica, Rick, Patti, The Car Corner, the staff at Marlborough Health Care Center, and his numerous friends for their thoughtfulness during these trying times. John will be buried beside his father and brother in Bolton Cemetery with a private committal service at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, John's mother asks that John be remembered with a contribution to a charity of your choice.
