John A Lignor

John A. Lignor, 90, of North St. Willimantic, husband of the late Eva Lignor, died Thursday April 11, 2002 at Roncalli Health Center in Willimantic. He was born Oct. 8, 1911 in Willimantic the son of Andrew and Stella Lignor. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the European Theater during World War 2, participating in numerous battles. John formerly owned and operated Lignor Well Drilling for many years and enjoyed working in his garden. He is survived by a stepson Fred Sketchley and his son Jeffrey both of CA., a nephew Charles Blish and his wife Vilma of N. Windham , who together cared for him along with several neighbors in recent years. He his also survived by a special friend Alice Casey of Willimantic. According to John?s wishes, a private graveside service will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to a charity of the donor?s choice. Arrangements by the Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic.
