John N. Johnson

John N. Johnson, 51, of Hampton, died unexpectedly at his home, March 20, 2008. He was born September 5, 1956 in Willimantic, the son of Antoinette (Bellevance) Johnson of Hampton and the late Norman Johnson. He had been employed for over 30 years as a landscaper at the University of Connecticut. John was known as a generous man, always going out of his way to help others. In addition to his mother he is survived by four sisters, Norma Fox and Gloria Barnsley, both of California, Joan Ford of Mansfield and Maureen Purtle of Charlestown, NH, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Wayne and Earl. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. There are no calling hours. The Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic is in charge of arrangements.
