John P. Iscoll Jr.

John P. Driscoll Jr, 94, husband of 56 years to the late Helen (Doyle) Driscoll, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. He was born in Norwich, CT, to the late John and Rose (Ritchie) Driscoll. John served his country in the US Marine Corp joining in 1942, serving primarily in the Philippines in WWII as an armorer loading bombs onto planes. He was honorably discharged in 1946. After he returned home, he resumed his education at Providence College in Providence, RI graduating with a bachelor?s degree in 1948. He then worked for Prudential Insurance Company for over 40 years, retiring in 1991. John was a long-time communicant at St. Joseph?s Roman Catholic Church, in Willimantic, CT. John was a member of the Willimantic Country Club for many years and was an avid golfer, only hanging up the clubs at age 87. He loved spending time with his family, especially at the beach. He is survived by a daughter Peggy Flaherty and her husband Dennis of Stratford, two sons, Michael Driscoll of Westport and Dr. Brian Driscoll and his wife Dr. Marcia Driscoll of Ellicott City, MD, sister Rosemary Einstman of Nashville, TN, six grandchildren, Kelly, Jennifer and Caitlin Flaherty and Stephen, Connor and Ally Driscoll, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Christine Lescoe. John?s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday September 28, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. in Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
