John DeGray, 88, of Mansfield, went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2013. John was predeceased by his wife Daisy Kimball DeGray. John was born in Hartford, CT to John C. DeGray and Evelyn Forte DeGray on June 25, 1925 and was one of eleven children. John served his country during World War II from 1942-1946 in the United States Navy as a Seabee. After returning home he worked as a plumber for Abbate & Sons of Windsor. John leaves his three sons John DeGray Jr. of Mansfield, Thomas DeGray and his wife Diane of East Windsor and Gregory DeGray and his wife Kimberley of Enfield; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom he loved more than they will know. Later in life one of John's great pleasures was his dog and best friend Charlie with whom he would go on long walks with every day. There are no calling hours. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held Wednesday April 10, 2013 at 11:00am at the New Willimantic Cemetery, Rte. 32 at intersection with Rte. 6, Willimantic.
