John P. Burnham Jr.

John P. Burnham, Jr. of Chaplin passed away peacefully on April 2, 2019. John lived a long and fulfilled life. He served his country in the US Army during World War II, and worked for the Southern New England Telephone Company. He retired at the age of 55 and fully enjoyed 45 years of retirement before his passing at the age of 101. John was married to Helen?his loving wife and best friend?for 70 years. John was a role model of patience and hard work. He enjoyed gardening, camping in a progression from tents to RV?s, traveling, and most of all his family. He is survived by Helen, their six children, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Herbert and predeceased by his brothers Stowell and Edward. There are no calling hours. John?s family will celebrate his life privately.
