Joan Anne Kuhn Morin, 77 of Windham passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, March 23, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. She was born November 16. 1935 and was the daughter of the late Arthur Kuhn and Annabelle Linsley Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lucien R. Morin. She is survived by sons Timothy & his wife Michelle of Berlin, CT, Steven and his wife Robin of Owasso, OK, Robert & his wife Julie of Mt Laurel, NJ, and daughter LuAnne & her husband, Mark Miller of Pleasanton, CA along with 16 loving grandchildren. Her brothers William Kuhn of Windham, CT, David Kuhn of Florida and Donald Kuhn of Virginia also survive her. Her brother Arthur Kuhn of Coventry, CT preceded her in death. Joan lived in Windham for nearly 70 years and has impacted her community in so many positive ways. She was the 2009 recipient of The Ray of Sunshine Award for the positive impact she had on the local community. She was an active member of St Margaret's Catholic Church in Scotland for more than 50 years and volunteered for many organizations throughout her life. Up until her illness last fall, she cherished her position as a Paraprofessional at Natchaug School in Willimantic where she worked for 35 years. An avid Boston Red Sox fan and UConn Girls basketball fan, she would often have friends over to watch games. She has been a resident at St Joseph's Living Center since early January of this year. The staff became a second family to her and she loved them as much as they loved her. Special thanks to all of the staff who loved and cared for her for the past three months. Words cannot begin to express the family's sincere gratitude to all the family and friends who gave constant love and support during this challenging time. Joan's positive attitude was ever present and she was always there with kindness, wisdom, empathy, and an embracing smile. That contagious smile and laughter brought happiness to all who knew her. Even through her illness, she maintained that positive attitude of faith and hope, and always had that smile on her face. Joan taught many how to love and laugh and she will be dearly missed by all. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday, March 26, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 27 will be held at St. Margaret's Church, Route 14 in Scotland, CT. Burial will follow in St Joseph's Cemetery, Windham, CT.
