Joan Marie Gorlach

Joan Marie Gorlach, 65, of North Windham, passed away unexpectedly at Hartford Hospital on July 23, 2018. She was born in Willimantic, the daughter of the late Theodore and Sophie (Lesniak) Gorlach. Joan earned her BA from Eastern Connecticut State University and ended her career at JC Penney. She was passionate about animals and rescues and leaves behind four beloved felines. She inherited her artistic talents from her father. Joan loved the solitude of nature and enjoyed gardening, cooking/baking and mystery novels. She leaves behind her three siblings, Nancy Caron and her husband Joe from Rimouski, Canada; Bev Gorlach of Manchester; Bill Gorlach of North Windham; nephew Greg Thayer of North Windham; and many cousins and friends. Joan?s family will receive relatives and friends Friday, July 27, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
