Joan R. Garneau, 73, of Willimantic, wife of Leonard Garneau, died Wednesday January 11, 2006 in Windham. She was born May 25, 1932 in Willimantic, the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Trudeau) Rocheville, had lived in Willimantic all her life and was a communicant of St. Mary Church. She was an avid Red Sox fan, a lifelong Republican who enjoyed politics and a former Registrar of Voters. Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. In addition to her husband she is survived by 4 children, Michael Garneau of Willimantic, Mark Garneau and his wife Barbara of Gaylord, MI, Lynne Swanson and her husband Jon of Chaplin, Lisa Garneau and her partner Peter Rutishauser of Los Angeles, CA, a brother, Clyde Rocheville of Asheville, NC, 3 grandchildren, Laura Garneau, Chelsea Garneau and Mark Garneau Jr. She was predeceased by a brother, Louis Rocheville. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 a.m. prior to the procession to her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Willimantic.
