Joan Ann Barclay, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 26, 2024, in North Windham, Connecticut. Born on February 24, 1946, in Manchester, CT, Joan's life was a testament to her generous spirit and unwavering dedication to her family.  Joan, the cherished daughter of Philip Faron and Dorothy Gauthier, and lovingly raised by her stepfather Joseph Gauthier, lived a life marked by compassion and care. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Barclay, and together they built a family foundation that would stand the test of time.  Her legacy is carried on by her devoted children: Mike Barclay and his wife Patty, John Barclay, Laura Hackney and her husband Darren, and April Sage. Joan was a pillar of strength and love for her grandchildren Chucky Barclay and his wife Victoria, Kevin Barclay, Logan Barclay, David Hackney and his wife Michaela, Travis Sage, and the late Kenny Sage, as well as Chelsea Corriveau. Her great-grandchildren, Savannah Barclay and Jackson Hackney Etienne Sage will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandmother's warmth and generosity.  Joan's professional life as a home health aide was a reflection of her innate desire to help others. She was not only a caregiver by profession but also a homemaker who took immense pride in creating a welcoming and loving home for her family and friends. Her work within the community and her association involvement showcased her commitment to service and her belief in the power of community support.  Her interests were as unique and spirited as she was. Joan had an affinity for horror movies, a genre that allowed her to explore the thrills and chills of the cinematic world. However, the true horror would be a world without her infectious laugh and warm embrace. Above all, Joan cherished the time spent with her family, and those moments will be remembered as the happiest and most fulfilling of her life.  Described by those who knew her as loving, generous, and kind, Joan's influence extended far beyond her immediate family. She touched the lives of many, offering a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or a helping hand whenever needed. Her kindheartedness knew no bounds, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all.  Joan Ann Barclay's life was a journey of love, from the bonds she formed with her parents and stepfather to the family she nurtured alongside her husband. Her sons, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are a testament to the love she so freely gave, and they will continue to honor her memory by living out the values she embodied.  As we say goodbye to Joan, we celebrate the life she lived and the many hearts she touched.
