Jo-Ann S. Horn

Jo-Ann (Salinsky) Horn, 59, Jo-Ann Horn of Willimantic passed peacefully from this earth to her eternal life on Monday October 20, 2014 at Hartford Hospital with her husband Norman and sister Karen by her side. Jo-Ann was the daughter of Stanley and Rose (Eichner) Salinsky who predeceased her. She was the beloved wife of Norman and they had over 39 years of marriage together. She also leaves her sister Karen McCollum of Willimantic as well as a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law as well as a niece in Florida and nephew in Michigan. She also leaves cousins and many friends. Jo-Ann and Norman were avid campers and were seasonal at Peppertree Campground in Eastford for eighteen years and more recently at Chawima Campground in Chaplin where they made many friends and she served on the board of directors. Jo-Ann had several large flower gardens at both campgrounds and taught herself how to grow and care for many beautiful varieties. Jo-Ann was a loyal asset at General Cable, formerly Brand Rex in Willimantic where she was employed for over 43 years in many capacities including many years in human resources. Her experience, expertise and professionalism will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society 825 Brook St. I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067. There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon to celebrate Jo-Ann's life at Willimantic Country Club on Sunday November 2, 2014 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
