Jimmy W. Richards Sr

Jimmy W Richards Sr. passed away on 5/4/2013 at the age of 84. Jimmy is predeceased by his wife, Emilie M. Richards (Goodwin), and his beloved dog Baby. Jimmy is survived by his four children Kathleen Gelinas of Ridgway, PA, Laura Richards of Woonsocket, RI, James Richards (Diane) of Mansfield, and Timothy Richards Sr.(Ruthanne Santor) of Coventry. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jenny Novak , Peter Gelinas, Jonathan Adams, Julee Adams, Sarah DeVeau, James Richards, Timothy Richards Jr, Travis Richards, and Hilary Richards. He is also survived by 16 Great Grandchildren who will all grow up listening to stories about their amazing Great Grampi. Jimmy was born in Willimantic, CT on October 12, 1929. He has worked multiple jobs throughout his life including driving buses, working security at the Plainfield dog track, and most recently working for many years as a security guard at the weekly Saint Joseph's Church BINGO in Willimantic. Jimmy was also a constable with the Willimantic Police Department for many years. Jimmy was an avid collector of Matchbox cars, movies of all genres, and other various collectibles. He will forever be remembered for his love and enjoyment of making others smile. Family and friends will be celebrating Jimmy's life at the Willimantic American Legion Post 19 on Saturday June 1st from 1-4. All are welcomed to join.
