Jessie Armstead Marshall

Jessie Louise (Armstead) Marshall, 81, of Storrs, wife of the late Herman F. Marshall, died Friday, September 16, 2011 in Storrs. She was born in Hartford on April 11, 1930, the daughter of George and Frances Armstead. She was raised in Wethersfield, graduated from Wethersfield High School and Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. Jessie married Herman F. Marshall on November 28, 1953. They have two children, Stephen C. Marshall of Coventry and Carolyn M. Stearns of Mansfield. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jessie was employed for many years by the Hartford Courant as a writer. She had an avid interest in historical crafts and textiles. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested to the Coventry Historical Society or the Mansfield Historical Society. The Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic assisted with arrangements.
