Jerry G. Filek

Jerry G. Filek, of Willimantic, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Willimantic at the age of 92. He was born in Derby, CT on January 8, 1916. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945. He was employed at Blumenthal's Textile Mill in Shelton, CT and retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford in 1978 after 27 years of service. Jerry was a member of the American Legion in Willimantic. He leaves his son, Jerome A. Filek and his wife Jeanne of Franklin, two grandsons, Arthur G. Filek and Earl D. Filek of North Windham, two great grandchildren, Justin Perry of North Windham and Shealynn Filek of Windham Center and his sister Elizabeth Pawlyk of Shelton, CT. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Irene (Delude) Filek and his brother, Frederick Filek of Ansonia, CT. Funeral services will be private with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
