Jeremy John Champe, of California, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2011 with his faithful partner at his side after a long illness. He was born in Hartford, CT on September 9, 1959. He was the son of the late Janice Geer Champe and John Champe of Lebanon. He was a gifted artist and loved to sing in the choir. He graduated from Bloomfield High School and then from Wagner College in Staten Island, New York. Later he moved to California where he worked in the food industry for many years. He also enjoyed the company of his cat Cleo, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his faithful partner, Larry Freeman of California, his father John Champe and his wife Helen, his sister Suzanne and husband Donald Dobrowolsky of Columbia, niece Jennifer Dobrowolsky of Columbia and nephew, Joseph Dobrowolsky of Columbia/Willimantic. He was pre-deceased by his mother Janice Geer Champe. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Lebanon. A Memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon, Exeter Road, Lebanon, CT on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1:00PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
