Jenny Grace Mercado

Jenny G. Mercado, 54, of Willimantic, wife of Enrique Mercado, died Saturday June 7, 2003 in Vernon after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 17, 1948 in San Juan Puerto Rico, the daughter of Andres Torres of San Juan and Genoveva Morales of New York. She was employed as a social worker in the Windham school system. Jenny was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister and was well known and loved by many in the community. In addition to her husband and parents she is survived by 3 children, Enid DeJesus of Willimantic, Dimara Taylor of Florida, Tomas Tatis of Florida, 13 brothers and sisters, Myra, Bilma, Sonia, Nilda, Neida, Lizette, Billy, Hector, Melvin, Alberto, Fernando, Sandra and Albert, 18 grandchildren Erika, who is expecting Jenny's first great grandchild, Jocelyn, Jenny, Jose Jr., George, Andres, Daniel, Jenny, Sammy, Amaryllis, Giovanni, Wanda, Joanna, Generosa, April, Wendy, Isaiah and Jaden. Her family will receive friends at Fuente de Salvacion Missionary, 7 Brook Street, Willimantic Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to burial in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
