Jennie (Ternullo) Melo, 79, of Willimantic, beloved wife of the late Joseph Melo, died peacefully with her family by her side Sunday, January 13, 2002 at the Windham Hospital. She was born March 6, 1922 in Willimantic, daughter of Carmello and Rose (Campo) Ternullo, and was a lifelong resident of Willimantic. Jennie lived her life as a loving wife and mother and also was employed for 23 years by the Town of Windham in the Assessor's Office. She was a woman of immense faith and a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. She will be deeply missed by her beloved family and many dear friends. She is survived by 2 children and their spouses, Francis and Cindy Melo of Columbia, Donna and James Bacon of Southington, a sister, Mary Breault of Willimantic, 3 grandchildren who were the joy of her life, Christopher Melo and his wife Dina of Albuquerque, NM, Matthew Melo and his wife Lisa, also of Albuquerque and William Bacon of Southington. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, dear family and friends. She was looking forward with great joy to the impending birth of her first great grandchild. She was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas Bacon, 2 brothers and a sister, Sebastian "Mickey" Ternullo, Salvatore "Sam" Ternullo, and Ann "Ned" Sarazin. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195, 1/2 mile south f Rte. 6) Willimantic on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. prior to the procession to the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Joseph Living Center Employee Goodwill Fund, Club Rd.
