Jeannette Bartok Obituary
Jeannette E. ‘Jan” Bartok, passed away on December 11, 2021 at Pierce Memorial Home, Brooklyn, CT. Jan was born on August 7, 1939, the daughter of Frank and Jennie Fafrak. She grew up in Stafford Springs and graduated from Stafford High School. Before marriage, she worked at the Covenant Insurance Group as a keypunch supervisor. After marriage to her husband John, she lived in Ashford where they built their home and enjoyed gardening, working with stones and caring for two Connecticut notable trees on their property. She also volunteered at the Windham County Probabation Department in Willimantic. Her hobbies included paint by number art pieces and large embroidery wall hangings.
Jan traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Bermuda with her husband and family. She visited the universities where her son and daughter received their PhD’s and is proud of their accomplishments.
Besides her husband of 52 years, Jan is survived by her son Philip, his wife Jenny Byrns, and their sons Zachary and Malik of Santa Fe, NM and her daughter Cynthia (born on her birthday), her husband Jonathan Olson, their son Jordan, and daughters Ariana and Isabella of Kirkland, WA. She also is survived by her sister Rose Cropley (Ronald) and brother Francis (Carol) and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pierce Care for the compassionate care they provided in her years managing Mupltiple Sclerosis.
