Jeanette Williams passed away peacefully on November 1, 2010 at Windham Community Memorial Hospital following an illness. Jeanette was born on September 18, 1930 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Florida (Jarvis) LeVere and Joseph LeVere. She was educated in the Springfield school system and graduated from high school in 1947. Jeanette loved Broadway musicals, reading, needlework, crocheting, crossword puzzles, going out to lunch, traveling and her children and grandchildren. Jeanette moved from Springfield to the Willington and Storrs area in 1966. Jeanette worked for the State of Connecticut for over 30 years, first at the University of Connecticut and then in Human Resources at Mansfield Training School, retiring in 1987. Jeanette was active in the Mansfield Senior Center until declining health limited her mobility. Jeanette leaves her son Jean Williams and his wife Debra of Willington; her son Christopher Williams of San Diego, CA; her daughter Victoria Brown of Manchester, CT; her daughter Lisa Williams of Winchester, CT; her granddaughter Jennifer Williams of Willimantic, CT; granddaughter Katie Williams of Chicago, IL; grandson Andre DeBella of Mansfield, CT; great-grandchildren Trinity and Brevin Gonzales of Willimantic; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her best friend Carol Sullivan and her husband David of Storrs. In addition to her parents, Jeanette was predeceased by her beloved son Jeffrey and her sister and brother-in-law Ellen and Anthony Nogas. At Jeanette's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
