Jeanette P. Cassidy

Jeanette P. (Smith) Cassidy, beloved and devoted wife of Francis J. Cassidy for 51 years of Liberty, SC and Columbia, CT formerly a resident of Westerly, RI died on December 22, 2013 peacefully at Windham Hospital surrounded by her loved ones following a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Wakefield, RI on February 27, 1939 the first child of Frederick B. and Eleanor V. (Lewis) Smith who predeceased her. She moved to Westerly in 1963 where she made her home until 2004. She was a loving and supportive mother. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Cobb and her husband Christopher of Columbia, CT; a son James F. Cassidy and John Alegre of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Scott Riley of Ashaway, RI, Craig Riley of Old Lyme, CT and James Cassidy, Jr of Ashaway, RI, Michael Cassidy of San Diego, CA and Megan Cassidy of Westerly, RI., six great grandchildren, Aidan, Alayna and Addison Riley, Tristin, James and Loghen Cassidy; two brothers, Alfred Smith of Narragansett, RI and Frederick Smith of Easley, SC. She was predeceased by two sons, Robert F. and Kevin P. Cassidy. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at The Church of the Holy Family, 185 Church St. (Rte. 85) Hebron, CT. There are no calling hours.
