Jean McArthur, 84, of Willimantic, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Windham Hospital. She was born September 12, 1927, the daughter of William and Marion (Hodgkins) McArthur and had lived in Windham all her life. Jean was valedictorian of her high school class and spent 40 years teaching, several years in Mansfield and the remainder in Windham, mostly at the Oaks School. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a volunteer guide at the Lebanon War Office. Jean was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Willimantic. She is survived by several cousins including Lois, Ken and Linda in New York State and a good friend Lorraine Hansen. She was recently predeceased by her brother, Bill. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the New Willimantic Cemetery, Rte. 32 at Rte. 6, Willimantic. There are no calling hours.
