Jean Manter

Jean C. Manter, born this day in 1918 in Willimantic CT, passed away peacefully at home in Storrs on Thursday, November 20, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents William S. and Blanche Whitney Congdon; and her beloved husband Stanley P. Manter. Jean is survived by her son Jerauld W. Manter and his wife Michele Ouellette of Boise ID and daughter Bette J. Manter and her husband Alan Revering of Storrs; as well as her 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was proud of her heritage as a 50 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Mayflower Society. She was active in Beta Sigma Phi, the Women's Club of Storrs, and many other groups and clubs, and a member of the Storrs Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Windham Area Interfaith Ministry (WAIM) 866 Main St, Willimantic, CT 06226 (860) 456-7270 or the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Waggoner Chapel at Storrs Congregational Church, 2 N. Eagleville Road with a reception to follow in the Community Room until 4:00 PM.
