Jean Eliza Gilligan

Jean Gilligan, age 88, of North Windham passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Norwalk, CT on February 7, 1926 to Edith (Jennings) and Howard Rogers. She was a longtime Mansfield resident and the wife of the late Jim Gilligan, who died in 2003. She is survived by her three children: Patty and husband Mark Mendenhall of Chaplin; Noreen and husband John Piscatelli of North Windham; Sean and wife Lisa of Holly Springs, NC. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Tina Piscatelli and partner James Bemis of Ledyard; Ryan Piscatelli and wife Rachel of South Windham as well as great grandson: Ryan Piscatelli of North Windham. Her passions included family, gardening, knitting and other various crafts. Her creativity, great cooking and wit was enjoyed by many. Jean was an avid UConn Women's Basketball fan and loved her outings to Mohegan Sun. Her family cherish the multitude of good memories and hold her dear in their hearts. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12 at 1 PM, at the Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic. Burial will follow at the Mansfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 11 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
