Jason Cartter "Jay" Charron, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away on July 22, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 12, 1972, in Willimantic, CT, Jay was a pillar of strength, love, and laughter in his family.
Jay is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Suzanne Charron, and his children Elizabeth Baral and her husband Adam, and Joshua Charron and his wife Colby, who were his pride and joy. He was the proud son of Kathleen and James Charron and a caring brother to Timothy Charron and his wife Kimberley. He found immense joy in the company of his two golden retrievers, Gracie and Harley. Jay's family was his world, he was their fierce protector who always had their back.
Jay was a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local #326. 23 years ago, Jay started working at Manafort Brothers, Inc. His dedication and hard work led him to become a Superintendent. Jay was an incredibly hard-working man who loved his craft.
His colleagues admired him for his dedication, commitment, and the take-no-crap attitude he brought to the workplace. Jay respected and loved his co-workers, who he spent countless long hours with. His motto, "Everybody loves Jason," was a testament to his goofy personality and the impact he had on everyone he met.
An avid Yankees and Giants fan, Jay's love for sports was infectious. He was a man who cherished simple pleasures, and nothing made him happier than spending time with his family. Whether it was camping under the stars or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, Jay's presence was a source of comfort and joy.
Jay leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well-lived. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories they made with him. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the life of a man who touched so many hearts and made the world a brighter place.
Please join his family for calling hours Saturday, July 29th from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St.,Willimantic, CT. Funeral services will be held at Potter Funeral Home on Sunday, July 30th at 10:00am with reception to follow. Jay always insisted that his services be on the weekend so nobody misses a day’s work. Jay was a simple man, who hated to get dressed up. The family asks that everyone dress comfortably in his honor.
