Jarrod Russell Saffin

Jarrod R. Saffin, 23, of Ashford, CT, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Franklin, CT. He was born July 10, 1989 in Putnam, CT. He was the son of Kim Miller of Ashford, CT and James Saffin II of Theresa, NY. He is also survived by a brother James Saffin III of Stafford Springs, a sister Tabetha Saffin and additional brother Zachary Saffin of Ashford, CT; grandfather Lou Benware of Philadelphia, NY; and his girlfriend Tiara Busch of Norwich, CT. His family also consists of several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jarrod was an auto mechanic and enjoyed working on Honda race cars at HTA Motorsports of Willimantic, CT. Additional types of work in which Jarrod was involved with included landscaping and various construction projects. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes/ motorcycles, four wheelers, and snowmobiles. His additional hobbies included fishing, target practicing, and most of all hanging out with his friends. Two grandmothers Vivian Miller and Patricia Benware, two grandfathers Ronald Miller and James Saffin, a cousin Jessica Scalia and an aunt Judith Stebbins predeceased him. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday March 29, 2013 between 5:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30am followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to assist the family with expenses.
