Janice (Manseau) Kasacek, 78, of Willington passed away on November 5, 2014. Janice was born in Willimantic on September 13, 1936 to Edmond Manseau and Antoinette Matte. She is predeceased by her brothers Phil and Don Manseau of California. Janice is survived by her son, Peter Kasacek of Coventry, daughter Pamela Young of Charlotte, North Carolina, granddaughter Jane Santavanere and two great grandchildren, Peter and Alexis of Cape Coral, Florida. Jan attended Windham High School graduating with the class of 1954. Post-graduation, Jan went to work as gal Friday for the Willimantic Chronicle. After raising her family and with her knack for numbers, Jan went to work for the Town of Willington as bookkeeper for over 20 years. After retirement, Jan's love of animals (especially cats) led her to work part time as a bookkeeper at the North Windham Animal Hospital. She was actively involved with the Windham Theatre Guild, sang and directed with the Golden Tones and held various positions within the Willington Seniors. Jan sang in many church choirs since the age of 5 and her favorite music was the Latin Mass. Jan loved spending time with good friends attending live theatre, playing cards, roulette and Bingo. She enjoyed travel with road trips and cherished her time at Daytona Beach. She will be missed by many and remembered for her cheerful nature, quick wit and playful antics. Relatives and friends can join the family Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St (Route 195), Willimantic.
