Janet H. Jurovaty, 90, of Andover, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011. She was born on November 23, 1920 in Hartford, daughter of Edward and Clara Heimer. She was employed as a Bank Teller at Hartford National Bank for 10 years. She also worked at RHAM High School as a dietician for sixteen years prior to her teller job. Janet was an avid fan of the UConn men and women's basketball teams as well as a big Yankee fan. She also loved her cat Mitty-Kitty and Petey her parakeet. Janet was predeceased by her husband of sixty years, Edward S. Jurovaty. She is survived a son and two daughters, Edward S. Jurovaty and his wife Valerie, Heidi and Rae Palka, and Pat and David McCann. She is also survived by grandchildren Todd and Charlene Jurovaty of Tolland, Edward "Bobby" and Missy Jurovaty of California, Ryan Jurovaty of Andover, Allison and Justus Rogers of East Hartford, Daniel and Laural DeLuca of Bolton, Rae Palka of Andover and Tian McCann of Andover. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday Feb. 1st between 2:00 and 3:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic with a service beginning at 3:00pm. Interment will be private in the spring in Townsend Cemetery, Andover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Janet's love for animals to any animal shelter of their choice.
