Janet (O'Connell) Aston

Janet O?Connell Aston, 80, of Windham, CT, died peacefully the evening of December 31, 2016. The daughter of John J. and Irene (Croteau) O?Connell, she held a B.A. in Romance Languages from the University of New Hampshire, Class of 1958. Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Gordon H. Aston, Jr. and her brother Kevin P. O?Connell. Janet is survived by her children: Marjorie of Windham, CT, James (Kelly) of Coventry, CT, and Kenneth (Sharon) of Hertford, NC. She also leaves behind two beloved granddaughters, Deanna and Mariah, as well as her brother, John J. O?Connell, Jr. and sister Polly Westfall. Janet will also be remembered by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday, January 6, 2017 from 5:00 ? 7:00 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT 06226. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., St. Mary Church, 46 Valley St., Willimantic, CT 06226. The services will conclude with a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at St. Michael?s Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
