Jane D. Zayachkiwsky

Zayachkiwsky, Jane (Dyhadalewycz), age 90, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2011 at Evergreen Health Care Center. She was born in Sanok, Poland on September 12, 1920, emigrating to the United States in 1949. She was a long-time employee of the Travelers Insurance Company where she was active in the Girls' Club and other social outlets until her retirement in 1984. Upon her retirement, she resided with her son and his family in Vernon, and enjoyed her hobbies of cooking and baking, sewing and embroidery, growing plants and flowers, as well as taking care of her beloved grandchildren. Although she endured significant hardships in life, she always rose above them with poise, dignity, and most of all, humor. She is survived by her son Andrew, his wife Lynn, her grandchildren Michael and Nadia, and her great granddaughter Elizabeth. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011, 6-8 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. A funeral liturgy will be Friday at 10a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, 46 North Eagleville Rd., Storrs, followed by burial at the Storrs Cemetery on North Eagleville Road, Storrs.
