Jane H Thibault

Jane H. (Sabo) Thibault, 74, of Ashford, passed away peacefully at her home on July 15, 2014, with her beloved Newfoundlands at her side. Jane was born in Willimantic CT on January 22, 1940 to Joseph and Julia (Baker) Sabo, and lived in Ashford all of her life. She and her husband, Ron, began Nashau-Auke Kennel in the 1960's, raising and showing champion Newfoundland dogs. Jane and Ron were among the original members of the Newfoundland Club of New England (NCNE). Jane was an honorary member of NCNE, the Windham County Kennel Club and the Newfoundland Club of America. Jane's influence in the world of purebred dogs, and especially within the Newfoundland breed, is immeasurable. A loving mother and grandmother, Jane was also a friend and mentor to many. Jane was very proud of the accomplishments of all of her grandchildren. Jane leaves behind a son, David, and his wife Donna of Union CT; daughter in law, Ann Thibault of Fenton MI; a sister, Ann Toti of Nehalem, Oregon; six grandchildren - Joseph Thibault and his wife Gussie of Stafford Springs, CT; Joanne Thibault and Jessica Thibault of Union CT; Cheryl Thibault of Sussex, NJ; Brandon Thibault and Dustin Thibault of Fenton MI; her caregiver of many years, Lori Kreder; and many close friends. Jane was predeceased by her husband, Ronald L Thibault and a son, Ronald J. Thibault.
