Obituary

Jane Adriano passed away surrounded by the love of her family, who remained by her side through her final days and stayed with her until her last breath.

Jane was the beloved mother of Sean Cassano and his wife, Michell Cassano, and Sara Cassano; the cherished grandmother of Ryan and Nick Cassano, and Adeline Akeley; and a woman whose love for her family ran deep, even when it was expressed with her signature fierceness, honesty, and fire.

She was predeceased by her father, Albert Cambo; her mother, Anne Cambo; her brother, Albert Cambo Jr.; and her sister, Barbara Cambo.

For more than four decades, Jane worked as a respiratory therapist, dedicating her life to helping others breathe easier and heal. There is a profound and heartbreaking irony in the fact that after spending so many years caring for others in that role, she ultimately lost her life to respiratory complications following a devastating stroke.

Jane was truly one of a kind—fiery, determined, abrasive, fun, stubborn, and impossible to ignore. She was resilient, strong-willed, and full of personality. She loved hard, fought hard, and left a lasting impression everywhere she went. Beneath that strength was a deeply loving grandmother who adored her grandchildren and held a special place in each of their lives.

She will be remembered not only for her strength and sharp edges, but also for her humor, her spirit, and the unforgettable way she moved through the world entirely on her own terms. To know Jane was to know a woman who was bold, complicated, loving, and wholly herself.

She was also, without question, a collector of many things—all sorts of treasures that others may have simply called "stuff." Her family will always smile at the memory of her as their own beloved, one-of-a-kind crazy lady.

Jane's strength, determination, and resilience shaped the lives of those who loved her, and her family will carry those gifts with them always.

Details regarding a celebration of Jane's life will be shared in the coming weeks.
