James Miller Obituary
James “Jim” L. Miller, 70, of Mansfield, CT passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2022. He was born in Willimantic, CT, the son of the late Ronald Miller and Vivian (Innis) Miller.
Jim was the owner of Jim Miller Concrete which was previously owned by his father and known as Miller Brothers out of Mansfield CT. He took pride in all of his work, especially the amphitheater located at the Three Hierarchs Greek Orthodox Chapel in Storrs, CT. Jim was an avid motorcyclist. He enjoyed dirt bikes and flat track racing.
Jim was a kind and generous man who never hesitated to help others. Many looked up to him and aspired to be like him. He was a loving father and proud grandfather. He shared life-long friendships with many, including the Coon and Coolbeth families and several others. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Miller of Ashford, CT; son, Daniel O’Connell and his wife Lori of Middletown, CT; and siblings, Ronnie Lee Collelo and her husband Ernest Collelo of Moosup, CT, Douglas Miller and his wife Carol Miller of Zephyrhills, FL, Ricky Miller of North Windham, CT, Kim Miller of Tolland, CT, and Kevin Miller of Mansfield, CT. Also three granddaughters, Arwen Figueroa, Kaitlin O’Connell and Kayla O’Connell: many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Judith Stebbins.
Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226. His funeral service will be Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10:00am at Potter Funeral Home with his burial in the family plot at the Mansfield Center Cemetery.
