James "Eddie" Mcveigh

James "Eddie" McVeigh, 81, of Storrs, husband of Ruth (Smith) McVeigh, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Windham Hospital. He was born July 10, 1930 in Manchester, the son of James J. and Ann (Murphy) McVeigh, grew up in Manchester and had lived in Storrs for the past 25 years. James was a U.S. Navy veteran and prior to his retirement had been employed for 34 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Ellen, a granddaughter Brenda of Manchester, a brother John of East Windsor, a sister and her husband Joan and Tom of Broad Brook, several very dear and close friends at Jensen's Park in Storrs, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Patricia. Funeral services and burial are private. In lieu of flowers or charitable donations his family requests that an unsolicited random act of kindness be performed to honor Jim's memory.
