James "Jim" P. McCabe Jr. of North Windham, CT died Saturday, July 28th 2012 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Providence, RI on April 29th, 1933. Jim was the son of James P. McCabe Sr. and Zita McCabe. He was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School in Providence, RI and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was stationed in England in the early 1960's, where he met his wife of forty-nine years, Olive (Peacock) McCabe. Upon returning to the United States, he finished his enlistment in Bangor, ME before settling in Windham, CT and completing his work life with the U.S. Post Office located in Willimantic. In addition to his beloved wife Olive, he leaves behind his sisters Zita McCabe of Johnston, RI and Paula Clark of Weymouth, MA, his son Andrew McCabe, daughter-in-law Tracy McCabe and beloved grand-doggie Meg of Braintree, MA. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service to be held Thursday, August 2nd at 1:00 pm at the Potter Funeral Home, 465 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT.
