James Nicholas Maddaloni, 77, of Windham, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2019. He was born in Greenpoint Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. He attended grade schools in Brooklyn, NY and Horace W. Porter in Columbia, and Lyman Memorial High School in Lebanon. He was a U.S. Navy Seebee stationed in Great Lakes, Ill., Port Heuneme California, Argentina, Newfoundland and the Brooklyn Navy Yard, NY. He worked as a pipefitter at Electric Boat General Dynamics Shipyard in Groton and member of the Connecticut Construction Locals #1 and #3 during the building of the Travelers Office Building in Hartford and the Albany Mall, NY. He retired from the State of Connecticut Facilities Management Department at UCONN, Storrs. He was a steward for the Independent Union and worked as an OSHA Representative for UCONN. James was an avid hunter and enjoyed many years of hunting on family property in Ashford. He also hunted bear in Ontario, Canada and boar in Florida. James treasured the years he spent hunting in Maine with good friends and told many stories of their trips together. In addition to his wife, Joyce (Supina) Maddaloni, he is survived by his daughter in law Paula Greene Maddaloni, grandchildren; Vanessa Maddaloni Eason, Jennifer Welker and Joey Galipeau, great grandchildren; Julia, Johana, Ariana, Giovanni, and Isaac, sister in law Anne Supina, and uncle Louis Lucas. He also leaves his cousins Lorraine Lubatti, Lisa Lubatti O?Connor, Stephen Lucas (Denise), Dolores Palazzo (Nicky), Donna Dimauro (Cliff) and Diane Cuce (Bob) all of Long Island N.Y., John Lubatti USCG of Virginia, Michael Kazura (Jill) of NC, Eileen Lagala (Anthony) of FL, Gary Goleski of NJ, and Gene Goleski and Robert Goleski of Southampton, Long Island. He leaves nephews; Rudolph Supina (Mary), Vincent Supina (Sue), Dennis Supina (Beth), Eric Supina (Paula), and niece Lisa Enright (Mike), great nephews; Stephen, Nicholas, Jared, and Zachary, great nieces; Angela, Jackie, Megan, Shannon, Alexandra, Annie, Marlena, Jenna, Sydney, and Krissie, as well as six great great nieces and four great great nephews. He was predeceased by his son, James Joseph Maddaloni, parents Helen Lucas Bashko and Vincent James Maddaloni, beloved cousins Al Lubatti and Tom Lucas, and his brother in law Rudolph J. Supina. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
