James J. Lee Jr. of Shore Rd., Niantic, died Wednesday July 2, 2003 at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London. Born March 27, 1930 in Willimantic, the son of Ret. Col. James J. Lee Sr. and Alice Lefebvre, he attended St. Joseph School and Windham High School. He worked at the American Screw Co. in Willimantic and for many years at Hartford Special Machinery in Simsbury. He then retired from Brand Rex Cable in Willimantic in 1989. He married Mary-jane Wilmot in September of 1950. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 children; John and his wife Sharon, Cindy and her husband Mark, Jay, Jeffrey and his wife Sheri and Marybeth and her husband Christopher. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Jason, Josh, Morgan, Patrick and Shaun. He was a life member of the Fin, Fur and Feather Club in Chaplin and the Willimantic Elks Lodge. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00am at St. Agnes Church, 22 Haigh Ave., Niantic. A graveside service will be held at noon on Monday in the Old Willimantic Cemetery, Main St. Willimantic. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers.
