James Andrew Kearns, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 after fighting a long battle with multiple medical conditions. James was the son of Pamela and Russell Kearns. He is survived by his significant other Christine Rentz, mother Pamela Kearns, sister Cheryl Cote and Kim Ridzon.

James was born June 8, 1965 and lived most of his life in North Windham CT. He graduated from Windham high school in 1983 where he leapt into a fast-tracked career working for the United state postal service, serving a long 30 plus years and retiring as head postmaster. His career took him all over the state of Connecticut and then to Tennessee.

James enjoyed the outdoors fishing, bird hunting, and shooting skeet. If James wasn’t out enjoying mother nature you could find him spending long days in his garden. Growing his delicious canning goods or spending time with friends at the multiple clubhouses he belonged to. James also had a robust love for his animals and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them.

James will be immensely missed and continued to be loved by all.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT on Monday August 3, 2026 at 10:00am.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
