Mr. James R. Hoyt, age 88 of Inverness, FL, formerly of Willington, CT., died Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Inverness. Mr. Hoyt was born May 20, 1924 in Easton, ME, son of Elvin and Laura (Hawksley) Hoyt. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II. He worked in Quality Control for Pratt & Whitney retiring after 37 years of service. He moved to Inverness, Florida from Willington, CT in 1989. Mr. Hoyt was a member of American Legion and Uriel Lodge #24 AF & AM, Merrow, CT and First Baptist Church of Inverness, where he was an Agape Sunday School Deacon and Usher. He was predeceased by his parents, first wife Johanna Johnson Hoyt (9-23-03) and a sister Anna Mae Lincoln. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Hoyt of Inverness, 2 sons, James R. (Elizabeth) Hoyt Jr. of Pawtucket, RI, Thomas E. Hoyt of North Windham, CT, 4 daughters, Lois Anne (Richard) Hartenstien of Stafford, CT, Sandra M. (Edward) Bussiere of Willington, CT, Judith R. (John) Daley of Willington, CT, Laurie (Tim) Hawthorn of Quitman, GA, sister, Margie Cardello of NC, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday Jan. 28th between 5:00 and 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00am. Interment will be private in Willington Hill Cemetery.
