James C. George

James C. George, 78, of Ashland St., Jewett City, passed away Friday May 13, 2005 at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1926 in Hartford the son of Lorretta George of Windsor Locks and the late James V. George. Jim entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served in Europe as well as in the Pacific. He also served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Jewett City. Jim worked at Lydall and Colonial Fiber of Manchester and Shepard s Plumbing. He was married to the late Gertrude (Rusty) Berthiume. Jim is survived by seven children, Elizabeth George, Kathy Kaechele, Lorretta Tomer, Shirley Miner, Deborah Morley, James George and Joseph George, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
