James N. Corso Sr., 76, of Hebron, formerly of Manchester, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospital on April 24, 2011. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Lucy (Vitale) Corso. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Beverly Corso. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, James Corso Jr. and his wife Joyce of Columbia, Robert Corso and Thomas Corso and his wife Deborah of Lebanon. Jim will always be in the hearts of his grandchildren, Miranda, Justin, Rebecca, Nicholas and Joel. Jim loved spending time with his family and watching them grow. He graduated from Marianapolis Academy and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Panama. He was a lifetime member of Manchester VFW Post # 2046. Jim was a master craftsman and worked in his own contracting business, J.N. Corso and Sons, for 44 years. He was currently employed by Easter Seals and worked at Russell Mercier Senior Center in Hebron, where he made many friends. Jim was proud of his Italian heritage and celebrated life enjoying many gatherings with family and friends. He enjoyed building doll houses, gardening and watching the UConn Huskies. He is also survived by two sisters, Lou Jean Pettit and her husband Fred of Wallingford and Adele Corso of Rocky Hill. He was predeceased by a brother Richard Corso of California. Jim had a special relationship with his sister in law, Joan Ethridge and her husband David of Columbia. The family would like to thank the Hebron Volunteer Fire Dept. for their professional assistance. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday April 28th between 5:00 and 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic.
