James E. Cartier

James E. Cartier, 65, of Windham, husband of the late Annie Cartier, died Thursday Aug. 7, 2003 at home. He was born Feb. 25, 1938 in Willimantic the son of the late Leo E. and Ethel (Kelly) Cartier. Jim was a longtime mail carrier for the Storrs Post Office. He was a very active member of the Moose Lodge #1440 in Chaplin. He is survived by 2 sons; Randy and Scott of E. Hartford, 2 brothers; Arthur "Tyke" of Lebanon and Thomas of Port St. Lucie, FL., 2 sisters; Dorothy Vertefeuille of Willimantic and Mary DeVeau of Palm Beach Garden, FL. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at the funeral home with the Rev. Sharon Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to a charity of the donor's choice.
